U.S. Set to Transfer 3,350 Long-Range ERAM Missiles to Ukraine
(MENAFN) The United States has authorized the transfer of 3,350 air-launched ERAM cruise missiles to Ukraine, media reported Saturday, citing two anonymous US officials. These missiles, capable of striking targets up to 280 miles away, are expected to reach Ukrainian forces within six weeks.
Multiple US officials told media that Kyiv will require Pentagon approval before deploying the weapons in combat operations.
Despite his previous criticism of the Biden administration’s aid to Ukraine, former President Donald Trump stated this week that Kyiv has “no chance of winning” unless it can effectively hit targets inside Russia. Ukrainian forces have been steadily losing territory to Russian advances throughout 2025 and face significant challenges in replenishing their manpower.
Following months of ambiguity regarding American support, Trump announced in July that future arms shipments to Ukraine would be financed by NATO allies in Europe.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s principal European supporters, including France and Germany, are intensifying calls for increased military assistance, tied to post-conflict security guarantees. Russia, however, insists that Western weapons deliveries continue to obstruct diplomatic efforts for peace.
