U.S. Approves USD95M Arms Deal to Fortify Tunisia's Borders
The high-value deal is designed to reinforce Tunisia's defensive capabilities along its borders, with Washington underscoring the strategic significance of the transaction.
"The proposed sale will improve Tunisia's long-term defense capacity to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to meet its national defense requirements," the department stated.
Two American firms are set to lead the contract — Florida-based defense technology giant L3 Harris and Texas-headquartered automotive manufacturer Toyota.
The approval marks a continued U.S. commitment to strengthening security partnerships across North Africa amid growing regional instability.
